Step by Step Guide to Build a Test using Testmoz

 

Testmoz is a very quick and simple way to generate an online test for your students or trainees. If you want to conduct a survey then testmoz is a very useful online tool for creating an online survey.  The tool has many options with the help of which you can customize the test. With the help of Testmoz,  we can create a test, distribute it online, and more importantly we can get the results instantly. Testmoz has many options with the help of which a teacher can customize –

• the test
• the way the students can respond to the test
• the results.

Step 1

          Type testmoz.com in the search box of your web browser, or simply type testmoz and select the link testmoz.com. You will land on the home page of testmoz.

          You can build a test in testmoz on any device with an internet connection such as mobile, tab, or computer. On the top right corner there are different tabs like Home, Features, FAQs, Pricing, Build a test, and login/signup.

          If you want to use the free version of testmoz then no need to log in or signup. In the free version also there are certain features available with the help of which you can build an effective test. Step 2

          At the top right side of the home page, you can see a tab build a test or at the left side also there is the same tab. By clicking any one of the tabs from these two you can enter the test generating the page.

Step 3

          Enter the name of the test choose a password and then click on the tab create a test.

Two things are very important here,

1. Remember the password (if you are a free user then there is no option to recover it). Better you write it somewhere and keep handy.
2. Remember the URL of the test which is generated otherwise you will be unable to retrieve the test.

 

Step 4

            The dashboard of your test appears on the screen with the name of the test you entered. There are 5 steps in the dashboard to build the test, preview the test, and publish the test, and to view the result of the test.

Step 5

               Bookmark the page and write down the password and preserve it. It is very critical to bookmark the page or to remember the URL and the password otherwise it is very difficult to recover the test in case the password is lost and to view the results.

Step 6

          Adjust the settings

          Here in this, you can customize the test from the options given:

•   Adjusting the color scheme
•   Choose the language:

       Select the language from the given option in the language menu.

•   Question Settings

          You can set one question per page or all the questions on one page according to your choice.

• Randomize the questions

          If you select this option then the order of questions will be different for each student. If you deselect this option then the order of questions will be the same for each student.

• Review settings

          These are the settings after the completion of the test, how a test seeker views the test during the test, and after submitting the test.

          We can provide a custom message like “thank you for submitting” or any other message of your choice.

       At the end of the test, you can decide whether a test seeker can get the score of the test or not. You can decide whether the screen display correct or incorrect options for the test, explanations can be displayed (for paid users).

•  Access Settings

           These settings are for the users who can attempt the test (anyone means anyone with the URL can submit the test, or test seekers with a passcode or from the list which a test creator specifies, or test seekers who enter the email id). We can also limit the time for the test and the number of attempts for the test to make the test more effective.

•  Browser Settings

       These settings are for the paid users where you can disable some features like right-click, copy-paste options, auto-fill options, print options and translate options.

Step 7

       Questions

            Here you can add your questions to the test. You can add graded or ungraded questions like multiple-choice questions, true/false questions, match the pairs, and essay type questions. Free users are allowed to use only graded questions whereas paid users have access to all types of questions with features like importing questions from another test, importing from the files, and embedding videos. Free users can add to a limit of 50 questions per test.

Step 8

     Publish

            The test is available for students only after you publish the test. Before publishing the test you can preview the test and check for any mistakes. Once you have finished the preview then publish the test. You can download it as a Word document or take a print of the test. Once you publish the test you get a URL and this URL can be distributed to the students by means of messages or emails.

            Here you get a tab of the current status of the test, using which you can close the test or schedule the test. Anyone with the link can attempt the test as long as it open.

Step 9

     Result

            The result is displayed only after the students submit the test. All the details like who has attempted, what is the score, percentage of marks, questions with correct options, and questions with incorrect options are displayed. If you wish you can export it as an Excel sheet or take a print of the result.
